Krishna Janmashtami 2025 falls on Saturday, August 16, and while Bengaluru celebrates with devotion, it’s not a bank holiday. All public and private banks will remain open, with regular services unaffected. Customers can transact as usual but should plan for possible traffic delays near temples and celebration venues.

Temples like ISKCON and Sri Krishna Temple organize special pujas, bhajans and cultural programmes.

Bank holiday status in 2025
In 2025, Krishna Janmashtami falls on Saturday, August 16. Please note that according to the RBI’s bank holiday list for Karnataka, this date is not a designated bank holiday in Bangalore.
This means that banks, both public and private, will remain open and will function as usual. Customers will be able to transact at the branch without any disruption.
