Bangalore Silver Rates Update December 26, 2025
Silver rates in Bangalore today are: Silver 10g: Rs 2,341, Silver 100g: Rs 23,410, Silver 1kg: Rs 2,34,100. The price can go up or down daily, so always check before you buy or sell.
Silver is a popular metal in Bangalore. Many families use it for utensils and ornaments. Some people also buy silver as an investment. It is cheaper than gold, so anyone can start small. In Bangalore, you can find silver shops in areas like Chickpet and Jayanagar. Many jewellers also sell silver coins and small bars.
Prices change every day. The main reasons are global demand, import duties, and the Indian rupee value. Festival times and wedding seasons see more people buying silver. This sometimes pushes prices up.
When you buy silver in Bangalore, always ask for a bill. Check the rate with two or three shops. It helps to avoid paying extra. Most shops show the day’s rate on a board. Making charges are extra, but usually less than gold making charges.
Bangalore has many options for buying silver, but purity can vary. Only buy from trusted shops. Ask about the quality—many times, it’s marked as 999 or 925. This means 99.9% or 92.5% pure silver. If you plan to keep silver for long, store it in a safe place. Silver can get black marks if left open.
Gold rates in Bangalore change every day too, but gold is much costlier. People still prefer silver for gifting and daily use. It’s important to track daily prices before making any big purchase. Remember, taxes and small charges will add to the price you see.

Bengaluru Power Cut on December 26: Several Areas to Face Day-Long Outage Due to Maintenance
Several parts of Bengaluru will face planned power outages on Friday, December 26, due to emergency and scheduled maintenance at key substations. BESCOM has announced shutdowns in West, North-West and North Bengaluru for up to seven hours, affecting multiple residential and commercial localities.
Several parts of Bengaluru are expected to experience planned power outages on Friday December 26. This is due to electricity authorities carrying out emergency and scheduled maintenance work at key substations across the city.
The temporary shutdown will affect areas in West, North-West and North Bengaluru for several hours.
According to Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) power outages will occur due to maintenance work being carried out by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) at several 66/11 kV substations.
Officials stated that this work is necessary to ensure the long-term safety, reliability and stability of the power network.
Power Outage Timings
In West and North-West Bengaluru, power supply will be interrupted from 10 AM to 5 PM due to emergency and quarterly maintenance at the Chandra Layout 66/11 kV station.
This shutdown is expected to last for approximately seven hours and power will be restored after the completion of the work.
Additionally some parts of North Bengaluru will experience shorter power cuts from 11 AM to 4 PM. BESCOM will also be carrying out cable maintenance work at the Kattigenahalli 66/11 kV substation specifically in areas connected to the 9-7 feeder.
Potentially Affected Areas
The areas expected to be affected in West and North-West Bengaluru include RPC Layout, Remco Layout, Kalyan Layout, Subbanna Garden, Vidya Layout, MRCR Layout, Chandra Layout, Bapuji Layout, Vinayaka Layout, Moodalapalya, Gangondanahalli, Suvarna Layout, parts of Nagarabhavi Coconut Garden, Kengunte, Bhairaveshwaranagara and surrounding areas.
Furthermore in North Bengaluru areas around Kattigenahalli will experience power disruptions, including North Gate Sector, areas near Embassy and Philips companies, Dwarakanagar, Babanagar, Bagalur Cross, Bagalur Main Road, Vinayakanagar, Manipal College area, BSF Campus, PDMS and surrounding localities.
Why the Shutdown is Necessary
BESCOM officials explained that the power cuts are necessary as they involve essential inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance work at the substations.
These routine maintenance works help prevent sudden power outages, minimize system malfunctions, and improve voltage stability, especially before periods of high electricity demand.
Advisory for Residents
Residents, businesses and those working from home are advised to plan their day accordingly.
BESCOM has advised consumers to charge their mobile phones, laptops, inverters and other essential devices before the power outage.
Consumers are also urged to switch off sensitive electrical appliances during the shutdown to prevent damage when the power supply is restored.
After the maintenance work is completed power is expected to be restored gradually after the scheduled time. BESCOM has requested the cooperation of the public and advised residents to follow their official communication channels for real-time updates or any changes to the schedule.
