Kerala-Bihar Woman Raped in Bangalore Near KR Puram Railway Station: Two Arrested
A woman traveling from Kerala to Bihar was raped near KR Puram railway station in Bangalore.
The accused, identified as Asif and Syed Mushar, both from Mulabagilu, a town in Karnataka’s Kolar, were arrested shortly after the incident.
The woman was raped around 1:30 am on April 2 near KR Puram railway station.
The victim, a resident of Bihar, was working in Kerala and was on her way back to her home state.
She arrived from Ernakulam, where she was working, to Bangalore.

She contacted her maternal cousin, who asked her to get down at KR Puram railway station.
According to the police, the two were walking on the service road to an eatery to collect food when they were accosted by Asif and Syed Mushar, who were following them in an auto.
One of the accused restrained the victim’s cousin, while the other dragged the victim into the auto and took her to a secluded spot and sexually assaulted her.
On hearing the victim’s cries, a passerby rushed to her rescue while someone called the police.
Locals also nabbed one of the suspects, while his accomplice managed to escape.
According to Whitefield Deputy Commissioner of Police, Asif committed the rape, while Syed allegedly restrained the victim’s cousin.
Shivakumar Gunar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield), stated,
“On hearing the girl screaming, a person dialed 112. At that time, our Cheetah patrol team was near the spot. They caught Asif within a few minutes, while Syed escaped. Our team tracked him down and arrested him too.”
The Bangalore police have filed cases against the perpetrators of the crime, which include sections of the IPC for causing grievous injuries, intimidation, breach of peace, and sexual assault.
