Bangalore Power Outage On July 19: No Electricity For Seven Hours – Check Timings, List of Areas Affected
Residents of Bengaluru will face power cuts from 10 am to 5 pm on July 19, 2025 due to essential maintenance work by BESCOM. The affected areas include Mahadevapura, K.R.Puram, Whitefield and Indiranagar. Residents are advised to prepare accordingly, ensure backup lighting and avoid activities that consume a lot of electricity.
Power cuts are a common occurrence during Monsoons and Electricity transmission companies often carry out vital maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted supplies. Often during such maintenance work power supply is halted for a few hours.
However these outages are informed in advance so that the general public do not face inconvenience and are prepared for such eventualities. Bangalore residents will also have to endure power outages on July 19, 2025 from 10 am to 5 pm.
This outage was announced by BESCOM and the latter stated that this was necessary for maintenance work to ensure better future power reliability.
The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has stated that certain locations of Bangalore city will see power outages on July 19, 2025 from 10 am to 5 pm for essential maintenance work and system up gradation.
Bangalore Power Cut: Areas Affected by the Power Cut
Residents in the areas mentioned below are advised to plan and get ready for the seven hour power outages. The locations are-

| Mahadevapura Zone | Hoodi, Seetharampalya, Ayyappanagar, Basavanagar, Chinnappanahalli, Vignananagar, Kodigehalli, Munnekolala, Thubarahalli, and surrounding areas. |
| K R Puram Zone | Bhattarahalli, Medahalli, NRI Layout, Akshayanagar, Bileshivale, Devasandra, Varanasi, Vijnanapura, and nearby localities. |
| Whitefield Zone | Kadugodi, Hope Farm, Pattandur Agrahara, ECC Road, Immadihalli, and adjacent areas. |
| Indiranagar and Surroundings | HAL 2nd and 3rd Stage, Domlur Layout, Thippasandra, Kodihalli, Jeevanbheema Nagar, and adjoining parts. |
BESCOM has also advised residents of these localities to plan their activities accordingly. Residents are also advised to power their appliances, keep backup lightings and avoid using elevators and machinery which uses power.
The maintenance work includes system augmentation, line upgrades, transformer maintenance, and switching operations. Residents are also advised to get the latest updates from the BESCOM media handles and website.

Bengaluru Power Cut on February 14: BESCOM Announces Power Outage in Specific Areas from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
BESCOM has announced a planned power outage across multiple parts of Bengaluru on February 14, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM due to maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. Areas including Jalahalli, Indiranagar, Mysore Road, and central localities will be affected. Residents are advised to prepare in advance.
Residents in several parts of Bengaluru should prepare for a power outage on Friday February 14, 2026. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has announced a power outage from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
According to officials, the outage is related to NGEF substation maintenance, KPTCL repair work, feeder line servicing, transformer inspections and major grid upgrades.
The aim is to improve long-term reliability.
Jalahalli and North-West Bengaluru (10 AM – 5 PM):
Power supply disruptions will occur in and around Jalahalli Cross, Gangamma Circle, MES Road, BEL Road, HMT Layout, Kuvempu Layout, DBSandra Block, Kamagondanahalli, Ramachandrapura and surrounding residential areas. Industrial areas like the HMT Industrial Estate may also experience disruptions.
Indiranagar and East Bengaluru (10 AM – 3 PM in some areas):
Power outages may occur temporarily in Indiranagar, HAL 2nd and 3rd Stage, Domlur, Kodihalli, Thippasandra, parts of Old Airport Road and surrounding commercial areas.
Office hubs and IT-related locations in these corridors may be affected.
Mysore Road and West Bengaluru (10 AM – 5 PM):
Mysore Road, Nayandahalli, RV College Road, Kengeri Satellite Town, BHEL Layout, Sunkadakatte, Nagarbhavi and surrounding areas are covered by the shutdown schedule.
Central and other key areas:
Shantinagar, Richmond Town, Austin Town, Neelasandra, Ejipura, Adugodi, Nrupathunga Road, KG Road, SP Road, Cubbonpet Cross, and areas connected to nearby feeders may also experience power disruptions.
Why the Shutdown?
BESCOM and KPTCL have stated that periodic shutdowns are necessary to prevent unexpected outages and stabilize Bengaluru’s burgeoning power network.
While these outages can be disruptive, officials also say they will improve grid reliability.
What Residents Should Do
Charge essential devices and power banks in advance
Keep backup lighting ready
Store water if dependent on electric pumps
Plan meetings and travel accordingly
Timings may vary slightly depending on feeder progress.

Seven Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Bengaluru STRR Near Hoskote
Seven people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash near M. Satyavara village on Bengaluru’s Hoskote–Dabaspete STRR stretch. The accident involved an SUV, a motorcycle, a truck and another car. Six SUV occupants and the biker died on the spot. Police have launched an investigation into the fatal highway collision.
At least seven people lost their lives in a horrific road accident near M. Satyavara village on the Hoskote-Dubbaspet section of the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) on the outskirts of Bengaluru on the morning of February 13.
According to police the collision involved a truck, two SUVs, and a motorcycle. A major accident occurred on the highway.
Preliminary investigations indicate that an SUV traveling from Hoskote to Devanahalli allegedly rear-ended a motorcycle. It’s worth noting that after the initial collision the SUV driver reportedly lost control and collided with a cargo truck.
Another car then became trapped in the debris further aggravating the accident.
The force of the collision completely mangled an SUV.
The SUV’s occupants were trapped. Emergency rescue teams arrived at the scene to rescue those trapped in the twisted metal.
Police have confirmed that six people in the SUV and the motorcyclist died on the spot.
The deceased are believed to be residents of Kothanur, Bengaluru. Surprisingly their identities have not yet been officially confirmed.
The bodies have been taken to Hoskote Government Hospital for postmortem. Authorities have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation to determine the sequence of events and fix responsibility.
The incident has once again raised concerns about speeding and highway safety on the rapidly-constructed STRR corridor.

Bengaluru Techie Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Retired Navy Father and Dentist Mother to Death in Vignan Nagar
A 33-year-old tech professional has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his retired Navy officer father and dentist mother to death at their villa in east Bengaluru’s Vignan Nagar. Police suspect a family dispute over financial demands, and further investigation into the motive is underway.
A shocking incident has shocked the people of East Bengaluru. A 33-year-old tech professional has been arrested for allegedly murdering his parents inside their luxurious villa in Vigyan Nagar under the jurisdiction of the HAL police station.
The incident reportedly occurred around 7:30-8 a.m. on Wednesday morning at Adarsh Vista a residential complex near HAL Township.
The victims have been identified as 60-year-old retired Navy Captain Naveen Chandra Bhat and his 55-year-old wife, Dr. Shyamala Bhat, a practicing dentist.
According to police the couple was allegedly attacked by their son, Rohan Chandra Bhat, following a heated argument. Preliminary investigations indicate that Rohan repeatedly stabbed both his parents during the altercation.
Hearing the commotion neighbors rushed to the home and rushed the seriously injured couple to Manipal Hospital on Old Airport Road. Doctors declared them dead shortly after arriving.
Based on a complaint from Madhavi Nair, a neighbor and doctor associated with Manipal Hospital the HAL police have registered a murder case.
The accused was detained and later produced in court.
Police sources revealed that Rohan previously worked as a software engineer in the US and returned to Bengaluru about three years ago. Investigators believe he was trying to raise funds for a business venture and was allegedly pressuring his parents for financial support.
The couple reportedly expressed an inability to meet his demands leading to frequent quarrels. Following the previous altercation, Rohan had been living separately in Varthur.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact motive.
The bodies have been sent to Bowring Hospital for a postmortem examination, which will be conducted after the couple’s daughter, who lives in the US arrives in Bengaluru.
