Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Gets Rs 3 Lakh Discount Just Months After Launch
Volkswagen has reduced the price of its premium SUV, the Tiguan R-Line, by Rs 3 lakh, just three months after its launch. Now available at Rs 46 lakh (ex-showroom), the SUV is powered by its 2.0-litre TSI engine, 4Motion all-wheel drive, and luxury features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated massage seats and Matrix LED headlamps. Despite its strong specification sheet, initial sales were hampered due to its high CBU-import price. The revised price is aimed at making the Tiguan R-Line a more attractive and affordable option in the premium SUV segment.
If you’re up for a premium SUV buy, then we’ve some good news for you. Volkswagen has slashed the price of the Tiguan R-Line by up to Rs 3 lakh. This has happened within just 3 months of its launch.
At the time of the launch (April 2025), the car was priced at Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom), but right now it’s available for Rs 46 lakh. This has happened because of the cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate offers being offered on the SUV by the company.
The Tiguan R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that produces 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission and 4Motion all-wheel-drive.

It has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just seven seconds.
However, it is worth noting that despite its solid performance and premium features like a 12.9-inch touchscreen, digital cockpit, Matrix LED headlamps, nine airbags, panoramic sunroof and ventilated massage seats, the SUV has struggled to find traction in the market.
The high price of the vehicle was partly due to it being a CBU import. In comparison, the Tiguan’s Golf GTI priced at Rs 53 lakh was in strong demand and it quickly went out of stock.
With this price revision, Volkswagen now intends for the Tiguan R-Line to emerge as a more value-for-money (VFM) option for buyers.
